The Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police has arrested a logistics company manager accused of cheating his employer of nearly ₹9 crore through forged transport bills, fictitious suppliers and fabricated delivery records. The accused had been absconding for several months and was declared a proclaimed offender by a court.
Manager Allegedly Exploited Company’s Trust
Police identified the accused as Subhash Sharma, who worked as a manager and accountant at the logistics company. The company’s owners reportedly trusted him because he had been employed there for about five years.

Investigators alleged that Sharma exploited this position of trust to carry out the fraud. He purportedly arranged advance payments for trucks and obtained crores of rupees in the names of fake transporters and suppliers.
Police also found allegedly fabricated freight records and delivery receipts. Some vehicles recorded as carrying 40 tonnes of goods were said to lack the capacity to transport even one tonne.
Fake Firms and Bank Accounts Used to Move Funds
The accused allegedly created several fictitious companies and bank accounts to receive payments. Money withdrawn from the company was first transferred into these accounts and later taken out in cash or moved to other accounts.
Investigators also found that some cheques were issued from closed accounts or accounts whose holders had no connection with the transactions.
After the case was registered, Sharma allegedly went into hiding and changed his identity and addresses while moving between locations in Haryana and Rajasthan. The Economic Offences Wing continued searching for him.
Accused Traced and Arrested in Rajasthan
Acting on technical and human intelligence, the Economic Offences Wing tracked Sharma to Rajasthan. He was arrested on June 18, 2026, from the Tikrana Gujjar area of Beawar.
Police believe the alleged fraud may involve other individuals and are continuing to examine the financial transactions and related records.
The investigation is focused on tracing the movement of the funds and determining whether additional people participated in creating the fake companies, accounts, transport documents and payment records.
