A sensational fraud case involving alleged claims of occult practices and money multiplication has surfaced in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district. A farmer has accused a man posing as a religious cleric of cheating him out of nearly ₹1.80 crore by promising to multiply his money through special rituals and spiritual practices. According to the complainant, he was persuaded to sell 32 bighas of agricultural land and hand over the proceeds after being assured that the amount would be returned several times over. The farmer further alleges that he was threatened when he later demanded his money back.

Trust-Building Arbitrages and Occult Practice Inducements

The case reportedly pertains to Sarkara Kala village in the Bachhraon area of Amroha district. According to the complainant, Akash Chaudhary, he came into contact with the accused around two years ago. The accused allegedly introduced himself as a cleric and claimed to possess special spiritual powers capable of multiplying money through rituals and occult practices. Initially, the farmer did not take the claims seriously, but over time the accused allegedly employed methods that gradually earned his trust.

Akash claims that he first lent the accused ₹10,000. After some time, the accused allegedly returned ₹20,000, effectively doubling the amount. This transaction reportedly convinced the farmer that the claims were genuine. Thereafter, the accused encouraged him to invest larger sums, promising extraordinary returns through spiritual processes. Trusting these assurances, the farmer allegedly continued providing increasingly large amounts of money.

Agricultural Asset Liquidations and Dual-Channel Capital Flows

According to the complaint, the farmer handed over a total of approximately ₹1.80 crore over a period of two years. A significant portion of this money was reportedly raised by selling 32 bighas of land. The complainant alleges that around ₹35 lakh was transferred through four different bank accounts, while nearly ₹1.45 crore was paid in cash. The cumulative amount eventually reached about ₹1.80 crore.

The victim alleges that the accused repeatedly assured him that the money would be multiplied and returned within a specified period. However, despite repeated promises, neither the expected returns nor the original investment was returned. The complainant claims that when he began demanding repayment, the accused’s attitude changed and he allegedly started issuing threats.

Viral Visual Evidence and Currency Box Scrutinies

The matter gained wider attention after a video began circulating on social media. The footage reportedly shows a man performing a ritual-like ceremony in front of a box filled with currency notes. The video has been linked to the allegations, although its authenticity and connection to the case have not been independently verified. Nevertheless, the visuals have intensified public interest in the matter.

The farmer further claims that about six months ago, both parties entered into a settlement under which the accused allegedly agreed to return the entire amount by a fixed date. According to the complainant, when he approached the accused on the agreed date to recover his money, he was allegedly mistreated and threatened with serious consequences.

Psychological Engineering Safeguards and Credential Verifications

Renowned cybercrime expert and former IPS officer Prof. Triveni Singh says that fraudsters often begin by creating trust through small, seemingly successful transactions before persuading victims to invest larger sums. According to him, promises of guaranteed returns, miraculous wealth generation, or schemes claiming to multiply money should always be treated with extreme caution. He advises individuals to verify the legal, financial, and regulatory credentials of any investment proposal before parting with their money.

Meanwhile, local police have stated that the viral video appears to be old and that preliminary inquiries suggest there had been previous financial dealings and a settlement between the two parties. Officials have said that if a formal complaint is received, appropriate legal action will be taken based on available evidence. The matter remains under examination, and further verification of the allegations is underway.
