Delhi Police arrested 255 alleged drug traffickers during a 48-hour citywide crackdown under Operation Kavach 14.0, with raids conducted at 4,035 locations across the national capital. Officials said 212 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act were registered as part of the operation aimed at disrupting drug supply networks.
Raids Across All Police Districts
The operation involved 1,474 police teams drawn from all 15 police districts, along with the Crime Branch and Special Cell. Police officials said the action was based on intelligence inputs, technical surveillance and informant networks.

Authorities said the drive was not limited to street-level peddlers. The larger objective was to identify and disrupt the supply chain behind narcotics distribution in Delhi.
During the raids, police recovered 237.466 kg of cannabis, 5.184 kg of OG cannabis, 1.096 kg of heroin, 159.8 grams of cocaine, 101.1 grams of MDMA, 186 grams of methamphetamine, 366.48 grams of charas, 2,640 buprenorphine tablets and 287 pheniramine injections. Police also seized ₹23.27 lakh in cash.
Arms, Liquor and Vehicle Theft Cases Targeted
Alongside the anti-drug crackdown, Delhi Police carried out action under the Arms Act and Excise Act. Under the Arms Act, 329 people were arrested in 315 cases, with police seizing 96 pistols and country-made firearms, 147 live cartridges and 242 knives.
Under the Excise Act, 405 people were arrested in 398 cases, and large quantities of illicit liquor were recovered. Police also arrested 55 vehicle thieves and recovered 60 stolen vehicles.
The operation also led to the arrest of 49 proclaimed offenders. Officials said the parallel enforcement action was intended to target linked criminal activity and weaken organised networks.
Hotspots Checked, Foreign Nationals Verified
As part of the preventive measures, police identified 208 sensitive hotspots and carried out cordon-and-search operations at 1,429 locations. A total of 5,977 history-sheeters were verified, while 60,806 individuals were checked during the drive.
Preventive action was taken against 1,900 people. Authorities also verified 161 foreign nationals and initiated deportation proceedings against 21 individuals.
Officials said several drug modules operating in Delhi were dismantled during the operation. Special Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, H.G.S. Dhaliwal said Operation Kavach aims to protect youth from drug addiction and weaken the financial backbone of trafficking networks. Police said further enforcement action is expected.
