Dehradun ADM Ramji Sharan Sharma Suspended By Election Commission Over ‘Negligence’
Ramji Sharan Sharma had assumed the role of the 8th ADM of the district. Sharma has previously served as ADM in Rudraprayag, Dehradun, and Pauri, as well as SDM in Chamoli, Dehradun, Kirtinagar, and Gairsain.
Dehradun: The Election Commission (ECI) has suspended Dehradun’s Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Ramji Sharan Sharma following serious allegations of negligence in election duties. Sharma was transferred from the district on Friday, and suspension orders were issued on Saturday.
According to sources, the Election Commission’s decision came after a detailed report was submitted by the District Magistrate (DM), which highlighted Sharma’s lapses during the election process. The ADM, who held the charge of finance and revenue, is accused of dereliction of duty, which purportedly affected the integrity of the electoral process.
The District Magistrate’s report, which led to Sharma’s transfer and subsequent suspension, was submitted to the Election Commission on Friday. The report detailed multiple instances where Sharma allegedly failed to perform his duties diligently. Following the submission, the Election Commission acted swiftly, issuing suspension orders on Saturday.
Ramji Sharan Sharma had assumed the role of the 8th ADM of the district. Prior to this, Sharma served as the General Manager of the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam. He has also worked as the Upper Mela Officer for the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar. Sharma has previously served as ADM in Rudraprayag, Dehradun, and Pauri, as well as SDM in Chamoli, Dehradun, Kirtinagar, and Gairsain. He had stated that his priority was to complete public welfare tasks swiftly, ensuring that common people do not face any delays in the government system.
