The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested four accused in connection with an alleged cross-border terror module suspected of planning attacks in high-security areas of Delhi. Investigators said the module was allegedly being directed by Pakistan-based handlers and was preparing to carry out firing incidents near sensitive locations in the coming months.

Weapons Recovered During Operation

According to police, the suspects were in contact with their alleged handlers through social media platforms and foreign mobile numbers. They were reportedly instructed to conduct reconnaissance of police establishments, religious places and other sensitive locations in Delhi.

The conspiracy was uncovered after coordinated raids in Punjab and Delhi based on intelligence inputs and technical surveillance. Police recovered two foreign-made pistols, nine live cartridges and five mobile phones during the operation.

Drone Drops Under Investigation

The investigation began with the arrest of 23-year-old Shubdeep Singh alias Vishal from Amritsar. Police said a semi-automatic pistol, five live cartridges and two mobile phones were recovered from him.

During questioning, he allegedly admitted that he was in regular contact with Pakistan-based handlers and had received consignments of weapons and narcotics dropped across the international border through drones.

Based on his disclosures, police arrested Gurjant Singh alias Rishi and Sajan Singh alias Honey from Punjab. Officers recovered a Zigana pistol, four live cartridges and two mobile phones from them. Investigators said both were allegedly involved in receiving and distributing arms smuggled from across the border.

Delhi Reconnaissance Alleged

Further investigation led to the arrest of 24-year-old Gaganpreet from Delhi. Police said his mobile phone contained allegedly incriminating digital material and contact details.

According to investigators, he had been assigned the task of conducting reconnaissance of police stations, police pickets, religious places and other sensitive locations in Delhi. He was also allegedly preparing to execute a firing incident in the city.

Police believe the network recruited unemployed or vulnerable youth from Punjab and provided them with foreign mobile numbers to communicate with handlers. Investigators are examining the seized devices to trace the wider network, funding channels and possible accomplices.
