Ukrainian officials say the initiative will provide unprecedented access to information about Russian weapons systems that have long been regarded as highly classified.

Announcing the project, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said that weapons seized on the battlefield are not merely war trophies but valuable sources of knowledge about how an adversary’s military technology functions. According to him, systems that were once closely guarded by the Kremlin can now be analyzed and studied by authorized partners and researchers.
Developed in coordination with Ukraine’s military intelligence agencies, research institutions and defense specialists, TrophyLab serves as a centralized digital repository containing detailed technical information on Russian military hardware recovered during the war. Ukrainian officials state that the database currently includes more than 115 live samples of Russian military equipment across 79 military categories.

Access to TrophyLab will not be available to the general public. Instead, it will be restricted to verified and authorized users, including governments and defense ministries of NATO member states and other Western allies. Authorized users may review digital blueprints and technical records and can submit requests to examine physical hardware samples for further study.
