Acting swiftly, a team was deployed to locate the individuals operating the drone. The search led to the apprehension of two persons—Yetala Vamshi, a camera operator, and S. Nagaraju, a supervisor (outsourcing) with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The drone was seized from their possession, and both were handed over to the Saifabad police. Following a complaint from the TGSPF personnel, the Saifabad police registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter. While the exact intent behind flying the drone over the high-security Secretariat remains unclear, authorities are probing whether it was for personal, professional, or other purposes.
Security at government installations has been heightened in recent years due to concerns over unauthorized aerial surveillance. Officials emphasized that flying drones over sensitive locations without proper authorization is a serious offense and can lead to strict legal action.
Further investigations are underway to determine the involvement of others and the purpose of the drone operation.
