Kanpur: Police investigating the fake degree and marksheet racket in Kanpur have recovered another parcel sent from Delhi containing seven allegedly forged academic documents. Investigators believe the latest recovery points to an interstate network involved in preparing and distributing counterfeit educational certificates.

The parcel was reportedly sent through a courier service in Okhla, Delhi, to the address of Siddhi Vinayak Educational Foundation in Civil Lines, Kanpur. Police allege the institution is linked to Gopal, who was recently arrested in the case and remanded to judicial custody.

The recovered documents included two BA semester marksheets in the name of Shashank Kumar Yadav, four MBA Marketing semester marksheets in the name of Bisant Kumar Ojha, and one provisional certificate in the name of Khande Laxman Madhukar. Police said preliminary examination suggests the documents are forged.

Earlier Seizure Linked To Kanpur Module

Earlier, police had uncovered an alleged fake document printing unit operating in the Bekanganj area of Kanpur. During that operation, a parcel being sent to Bijnor was intercepted and 59 allegedly forged degrees, marksheets and provisional certificates were recovered.

So far, 16 accused have been arrested in connection with the wider racket. Investigators are examining whether the latest Delhi parcel is linked to the same distribution chain.

Forensic Examination Underway

Police have sent key accused Amit Kumar Saxena and Gopal to judicial custody. Investigators claim 26 allegedly forged degrees, marksheets, migration certificates and ₹4.53 lakh in cash were recovered from Amit Kumar Saxena.

Another 33 allegedly forged degrees, marksheets and migration certificates were reportedly seized from Gopal. The newly recovered documents are also being sent for forensic and technical examination.

Police are now trying to determine where the forged academic certificates were produced, how they were circulated, and whether more individuals were involved in the interstate network.
