Police Issue Public Advisory on Gold Purchases
Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious while purchasing gold and other precious metals. Buyers have been urged to verify the authenticity of gold through certified testing methods and purchase items only from authorised and reliable dealers.
Police have also appealed to people to report suspicious transactions or suspected fraud cases at the earliest, stating that timely information can help prevent financial crimes and assist investigations.
Counterfeit gold scams often involve false claims about purity, fake certification and misleading documentation. Consumers are advised to verify hallmark details, obtain proper invoices and conduct authenticity checks before making high-value purchases.
