Airlines Job Fraud: Aeronautical Engineer Arrested For Cheating Two Bhopal Women Of Rs 22 Lakh
BHOPAL: A B-Tech (Aeronautical) engineer was arrested for allegedly defrauding two Bhopal-based women out of Rs 22 lakh on the pretext of providing airline jobs.
While investigating airlines fake job cases, cyber police discovered that the accused had also defrauded another woman of Rs 21.75 lakh using the same modus-operandi.
Using technical tools, the cyber crime unit of Bhopal tracked his location and caught him in Gurugram, Haryana.
On August 6, 2020, the complainant submitted a written application to cyber crime Bhopal. According to the complaint, she came in contact with one – Ramiya on Instagram who posed as an employee of a private airline.
When the victim expressed a desire to work in the airline industry, Ramiya provided the contact information for a man named Rudra, who assisted her in getting a job in the airline industry.
Rudra demanded Rs 70,000 for the job, but the victim paid Rs 17,000. When the victim realised that she had been duped, she approached cops
During the investigation, it was discovered that the real identity of the accused was Roshan, a resident of Patna, Bihar. He is the mastermind of the gang, and he also duped another Bhopal-based woman for Rs 21,75,000 under the guise of marriage and providing a job in airlines.
When cops raided his house to arrest him, they were informed that he was on the run. But he rand out of luck and after seven months of chase Bhopal police arrested him from Gurgaon.
According to police, Rohan has a B.Tech (Aeronautical Engineering) degree and knowledge of airline operations. He used to create bogus Instagram profiles of women, such as Ramiya Sen, to lure unemployed and ambitious people looking for work in the airline industry. To appear genuine the accused also posted a profile photo of himself dressed in a pilot uniform.
