The Cyber Crime Police Station in Rajasthan’s Dausa district has arrested four persons for allegedly cheating Amazon of about ₹19.38 lakh by manipulating the company’s delivery and return process. Police said the accused placed orders for expensive electronic products, used incorrect delivery details and allegedly diverted the items during the return process.

Orders Placed With Incorrect Addresses

The arrested accused have been identified as Sahil Bansal, Madan Jangid, Paras Sahu and Narendra Bairwa. All four were produced before a court, while the investigation is continuing to determine the scale of the alleged racket and whether more people were involved.

According to the preliminary investigation, the accused placed online orders for high-value electronic products through Amazon and allegedly provided incorrect or incomplete delivery addresses. This caused the parcels to be marked for return.

Products Removed During Return Transit

Police claim that during the return process, the accused intercepted the parcels before they reached the warehouse, allegedly with the help of individuals in the delivery chain. Investigators said expensive products were removed from the packages while they were in transit.

The parcels were then allegedly resealed carefully so that they would not raise suspicion and were allowed to continue through the return process. Police said the stolen electronic items were later sold for profit.

Delivery Network Role Under Probe

The investigation has so far revealed the theft of 19 Apple Watches, each reportedly valued at around ₹1 lakh, along with two memory card packages. The total loss to the company has been estimated at approximately ₹19.38 lakh.

Police launched the probe after a complaint and examined technical evidence, delivery records and supporting documents before arresting the four accused. Investigators are now checking whether any delivery personnel or warehouse staff helped facilitate the alleged fraud. Further action will be taken based on the evidence gathered during the investigation.
