The MIDC Police in Andheri East have successfully solved a major corporate embezzlement case involving premium custom-made gold ornaments valued at ₹60,65,652. Investigators arrested an executive employed by Goldstar Jewellery Elite Company alongside his close friend after uncovering a pre-planned conspiracy.
The duo had staged a dramatic road accident inside a local scrap market alley to claim that unknown thieves had fled with the luxury asset container. Following intensive technical analysis, enforcement teams tracked down the hidden stash and recovered the entire missing cargo intact.

The Staged Accident and Sudden Disappearance
The operational breach occurred when a senior executive at Goldstar’s regional office in Andheri entrusted the primary accused, Avinash Gangadhar Kadam, with a high-value transit responsibility. The company, which specializes in converting raw precious metal blocks supplied by independent trade partners into finished, high-end diamond and gold pieces, ordered Kadam to deliver the verified batch to a client’s distribution branch.
Hours passed without Kadam confirming the drop or returning to the headquarters, sparking internal panic. Management soon received communication claiming that Kadam had met with a severe accident inside a crowded scrap alley known locally as Bhangargalli.
According to Kadam’s initial statement, the impact of the crash rendered him completely unconscious, during which an unidentified passerby sliced open his transport bag and fled with the entire jewelry inventory. Kadam was immediately shifted to a local labor healthcare center and later transferred to Cooper Hospital for further medical observation.
Behavioral Flaws and CCTV Deconstruction
The elaborate cover story began to fall apart during a hospital visit by the corporate complainants. Despite sustaining only minor scratches, Kadam exhibited highly evasive behavioral traits and repeatedly insisted on remaining admitted under hospital custody, raising immediate suspicions.
Sense an internal setup, the management approached the MIDC Police Station and lodged a formal criminal complaint. Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Vani immediately formed a specialized tracking cell to audit the physical terrain of the alleged crime scene.
Conspiracy Detection Routine:
- Claim: Sudden accident on delivery route – Target knocked unconscious
- Audit: CCTV checks at Bhangargalli spot – Zero physical impact recorded
- Discovery: Accomplice seen lingering – Pre-planned manual hand-off confirmed
Detectives reviewed street-level CCTV camera feeds surrounding the Bhangargalli sector covering the exact timeframe of the purported heist. The footage completely contradicted Kadam’s claims, showing no vehicular collision or physical assault.
Instead, video loops captured a suspicious male lingering near the location for an extended duration, eventually identifying him as Manoj Hanumant Jogdand, a close associate of Kadam. Investigators picked up Jogdand for a high-pressure interrogation, during which he confessed that the entire accident scenario was a pre-planned script designed to siphon the corporate property.
Legal Enforcement Actions and Full Recovery
Following Jogdand’s confession, enforcement teams raided a secure domestic hideout and successfully retrieved 100% of the embezzled gold ornaments. The MIDC tracking unit immediately placed both Kadam and Jogdand under formal arrest, processing them under relevant punitive sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) covering criminal breach of trust, corporate embezzlement, and generating false state notifications.
Local judicial magistrates have remanded the co-conspirators into extended police custody to allow investigators to verify if the duo had previously targeted other manufacturing houses using similar operational methods.
