New Delhi: Google’s AI service Gemini faced a sudden technical outage on Wednesday, leaving thousands of users unable to access the app and web versions of the platform. Users reported failed loading, system freezes, app crashes and error codes 1052 and 1076, while outage tracker Downdetector recorded a sharp rise in complaints.
Complaints Spike On Downdetector
According to outage tracking platform Downdetector, complaints rose sharply within a short period, suggesting that the disruption was not limited to isolated users. During the afternoon, many users simultaneously reported problems accessing Gemini across platforms.

Several users said the Gemini website and app failed to load properly. Others reported delayed logins, slow response times and complete system unresponsiveness, even when their internet connections were functioning normally.
The most commonly reported issues included error codes 1052 and 1076. Users also complained of sudden freezing and repeated malfunction across devices.
Google Yet To Issue Statement
Google had not issued an official statement on the outage or provided a timeline for restoration at the time of the reports. The exact cause of the disruption remained unclear.
Technical experts suggested that the issue could be linked to server downtime, backend updates or network-related faults. However, no official confirmation was available on whether the outage was global or limited to specific regions.
The disruption came at a time when Google had recently introduced its Gemini Omni model, a multimodal AI system designed to handle text, image, audio and video inputs for advanced content creation and editing.
Workflows Disrupted Across Platforms
Gemini is integrated across several Google services, including Google Search, Google Workspace, Google One and Google Cloud. The outage therefore affected not only individual users but also enterprise workflows that rely on AI tools for daily operations.
On social media, users reported that ongoing work was interrupted after the AI assistant became inaccessible. Some described the outage as a sign of growing dependence on AI-based services in regular digital workflows.
Google’s technical teams were reportedly working to resolve the issue, though no confirmed timeline had been shared. Users and industry observers continued to monitor the situation as they waited for Gemini services to return to normal.
