Rajasthan’s Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested six people, including a director of the Seed Corporation, after allegedly uncovering a major bribery network linked to inaction in a fake seed case worth ₹15 crore. Officials reportedly seized a total of ₹2.44 crore during the operation, including ₹1.59 crore from the director’s residence.

Bribe Trail Linked to Fake Seed Case

According to the report, the case relates to allegations that money was taken in exchange for not acting against those involved in sending substandard or fake moongfali seeds to Gujarat. The ACB action followed information that a large bribe amount had been exchanged to avoid proceedings against the accused.

₹2.44 Crore Seized During Searches

During the searches, officials reportedly recovered ₹1.59 crore from Jugal Kishore’s house. Another ₹85 lakh was allegedly recovered from his nephew Swatantra. The total seizure in the case has been placed at ₹2.44 crore.

The report stated that this is believed to be the first time the ACB has recovered such a large bribe amount in one operation. Officials also searched Jugal Kishore’s bungalow in Jaipur, a flat in another locality, and a government residence in Gopalpura.

ACB Action After Surveillance Inputs

According to the report, the case began after information was received that a ₹2 crore bribe had allegedly been paid in connection with the matter. Five phones were placed under surveillance, after which the payer, receiver and alleged middleman were caught.

The report said Kiran Kapadia was taken into custody from a hotel, while Sunil Setiya was also allegedly found with him. Another accused, Ganpat, was arrested from an airport. The ACB is now investigating the wider network linked to the alleged supply of poor-quality seeds and suspected bribery.
