Enhanced Reporting Mechanism for Public Participation
The primary objective of the ‘Drug Free Meghalaya’ app is to enable citizens to actively participate in eradicating the drug problem from the state. The user-friendly interface allows individuals to report any suspicious drug-related activity they encounter. This includes information on drug selling, storage, transportation, and any other illicit drug-related incidents.
To report an incident, users can provide details such as photographs and GPS coordinates of the suspicious person or event. Prior registration is necessary for the informer, requiring them to provide their mobile number during the initial setup. Once the mobile number is verified, citizens can directly report any suspicious activity or event through the app, ensuring anonymity and maintaining their safety.
A Collaborative Effort in the Fight Against Drugs
The launch of the ‘Drug Free Meghalaya’ mobile app marks a significant step towards creating a drug-free society in the state. The initiative represents a collaborative effort between the government, law enforcement agencies, and the general public. By involving citizens in the reporting process, the app strengthens community participation and fosters a sense of responsibility among individuals.
The Meghalaya Police will play a crucial role in responding to reports received through the app promptly. By acting swiftly on citizen complaints, law enforcement agencies can effectively combat drug-related activities and ensure a safer environment for all residents of Meghalaya.

With its intuitive features and user-friendly interface, the app aims to encourage maximum participation and engagement from the public.
The Government of Meghalaya envisions the ‘Drug Free Meghalaya’ app as a proactive solution in the fight against drugs. By combining education, awareness, and citizen involvement, the state aims to create a society where drugs no longer pose a threat to the well-being and prosperity of its residents.
