CBI Busts Indian Couple Involved In Online Child Sexual Abuse Racket in US, Arrests Man Selling Videos On Dark Web
New Delhi: Cracking a whip against sexual predators, the Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a man from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir who was allegedly running online child sexual abuse racket from India. He along with his wife targeted minors living in the United States.
According to a senior CBI official, the accused allegedly uploaded and sold the pornographic videos and images of minors over the dark web. He was also involved in direct communication with many minors in the USA.
The investigation has revealed that his wife is living in Washington, USA. The accused was allegedly operating the entire syndicate through his wife, who had agreed to be involved in a master-slave relationship. She was working on his direction and allegedly exploited multiple minors. She recorded these abuses and electronically sent the same to him, which he further sold on the dark web.
CBI said that when the victims refused to follow his dictate, the accused used to share objectionable videos and images with the victim’s family members.
CBI had registered a case under section 67 B of IT Act and Section 14 of POCSO Act, 2012 against an accused and arrested him on Tuesday.
Searches were conducted at the premises of accused at Srinagar which led to the recovery of incriminating digital evidence including three laptops, five mobiles, pen drives, handwritten notes etc.
The accused was produced today before the Court in Srinagar.
“CBI regularly coordinates with international law enforcement agencies to detect and investigate sexual abuse of minors, especially over the cyberspace and also reaffirms its commitment towards promoting cooperation with US Law Enforcement Agencies in combating child sexual abuse in cyberspace,” a senior officer said.
Consistent and conscious efforts are being made to identify and detain criminals involved in sexual exploitation of minors.
CBI had recently traced and arrested an accused, resident of District Chitrakoot (Uttar Pradesh) on November 16 on the allegations of sexually abused over 50 children in the Districts of Chitrakoot, Banda and Hamirpur (Uttar Pradesh).
