Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh): A case has been registered in Saharanpur after allegations surfaced that forged documents were created to falsely establish a wife and two sons of a deceased government employee in an alleged attempt to claim his property and service-related benefits. The complaint alleges that fake marriage documents, Aadhaar cards, family certificates and other records were prepared to obtain funds payable after the employee’s death and lay claim to his movable and immovable assets. Acting on the directions of the ACJM First Court, Behat Police have registered an FIR and initiated an investigation.
According to the complaint filed before the court, complainant Changez Khan alleged that his brother, Tabrez Khan, was a permanent employee at the Silk Department office in Manduwala. He stated that Tabrez never married and passed away on September 21, 2025. The complainant alleged that after his brother’s death, certain individuals entered into a criminal conspiracy to fabricate family relationships in order to unlawfully claim his property and service-related financial benefits.
The petition alleges that a forged Nikahnama (Islamic marriage certificate) was prepared to portray Rahat Khan as the wife of Tabrez Khan. It further claims that official records, including Aadhaar details, were allegedly altered to replace Rahat Khan’s husband’s name with that of Tabrez Khan. According to the complainant, these changes were made as part of a planned effort to establish a false legal relationship in government records.
The complaint also alleges that the Aadhaar cards of two individuals, Yusuf Khan and Asad Khan, were altered by replacing the name of their biological father, Mashkoor Khan, with the name of Tabrez Khan. According to the complainant, these allegedly forged documents were subsequently used to apply for death-related service benefits from the Silk Department and to stake claims over the deceased employee’s other assets and property.
The petition further alleges that a fake family membership certificate was prepared in the name of Tabrez Khan using an address in Ganpati Vihar. The complainant stated that Tabrez had lived throughout his life in Khidka Bhatkawwa village in Behat, was a registered voter there, and had never resided in Ganpati Vihar. He argued that the creation of family-related documents using that address raises serious questions requiring investigation.
Changez Khan also alleged that several important personal documents and the mobile phone of his deceased brother were stolen around the time of his death. He claimed that these documents and digital information were later misused to create forged identity records and other fabricated documents. According to the complaint, the objective of the alleged conspiracy was to illegally acquire the deceased employee’s property, retirement-related funds and other financial entitlements.
The complainant further alleged that when he confronted the accused on April 23, 2026, and asked them to stop the alleged forgery, they abused him and threatened to kill him. He stated that complaints were subsequently submitted to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), but no action was taken. He then approached the court, which directed the police to register a case.
Following the court’s order, Behat Police have registered an FIR under the relevant legal provisions and commenced an investigation. Investigators are examining the authenticity of the alleged forged Nikahnama, Aadhaar cards, family certificates, departmental records and other documents. Police are also investigating how the alleged alterations were made and whether additional individuals were involved. The allegations remain under investigation, and their veracity will ultimately be determined on the basis of evidence presented during the judicial process.
