Patna, September 29: The Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) has conducted simultaneous searches at multiple premises linked to Patna ADM (Supply) Ravindra Kumar Diwakar and his wife Kumari Sweety, the District Sub-Registrar of Danapur, in a disproportionate assets case. The searches in Patna and Begusarai reportedly led to the recovery of large amounts of cash, dozens of watches, jewellery and property-related documents.
The action was carried out on September 28 after the Vigilance Bureau obtained a court-issued search warrant in connection with Vigilance Police Station Case No. 113/26, registered over allegations of assets disproportionate to known sources of income.
Searches Conducted at Patna and Begusarai Premises
According to reports, vigilance teams searched the couple’s residences and offices in Patna as well as their ancestral property in the Pokharia area of Begusarai.
At the couple’s Patna residence in the Danapur area, investigators reportedly recovered more than ₹70 lakh in cash, including over 100 bundles of ₹500 notes. The volume of cash was reportedly large enough for the team to use a currency-counting machine.
More than ₹9 lakh in cash was also reportedly recovered from the Begusarai residence, along with gold jewellery and other material that investigators are examining as part of the case.
48 Watches and Jewellery Recovered
One of the more visible recoveries during the search was a collection of watches.
The Times of India reported that 48 watches valued at nearly ₹6 lakh were recovered from the premises. Other reports have described the collection as including expensive or foreign-branded watches. Jewellery was also recovered, with officials expected to assess its quantity and value as the investigation progresses.
The photographs from the search show large numbers of watches displayed during the operation along with stacks of currency notes.

Property and Investment Documents Under Scrutiny
Vigilance officials also recovered documents relating to land, investments and other assets. The Times of India reported that documents connected with assets worth around ₹3 crore were recovered during the searches.
Investigators are expected to compare the recovered documents and assets with the declared income, financial records and known sources of income of the officer couple.
The Vigilance Bureau has alleged that the case involves disproportionate assets of approximately ₹1.06 crore. The exact value of assets ultimately established in the investigation may change after the recovered cash, jewellery, investments and property documents are verified and assessed.
Ravindra Diwakar’s Administrative Career Under Review
Ravindra Kumar Diwakar began his career as a government teacher before moving into Bihar’s administrative service. He has held several postings, including positions in Saran, Katihar, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Samastipur and Gaya.
He was posted as ADM (Supply), Patna, in October 2025. His wife Kumari Sweety, a 2013-batch sub-registrar, has served in several locations and has been posted as District Sub-Registrar, Danapur, since 2024.
Investigation to Focus on Source of Assets
The recovery of cash and other valuables does not by itself establish that the assets were illegally acquired. The central issue in a disproportionate-assets investigation is whether the assets can be explained through legitimate and documented sources of income.
Vigilance officials are therefore examining the couple’s financial records, property ownership, investment documents and other seized material. The final assessment will depend on the evidence gathered during the investigation.
What This Means For You
Disproportionate-assets investigations typically require agencies to establish the relationship between an official’s known income and the assets held by the official or related persons. Recoveries made during a search can provide evidence, but their legal significance depends on subsequent verification, documentation and investigation.
The420 Insight
The significance of the Patna raid extends beyond the cash and watches shown in the search photographs. The property papers, investment records and financial documents could help investigators reconstruct how the assets were acquired and whether they correspond with the couple’s declared sources of income. The case remains an investigation, and the allegations will ultimately have to be established through the legal process.
