Popular independent singer from the Telugu music industry, Mangli, is currently at the center of a major financial controversy. She has been accused of an alleged fraud of up to ₹10 crore, sparking widespread attention and debate. However, Mangli has strongly denied all allegations, calling them a deliberate attempt to tarnish her reputation. Film director Venu Udugula was also briefly linked to the controversy, but he has categorically stated that he has no connection to the case.
The issue began after a complaint was filed by advocate Singapogu Subbarao, who alleged that Mangli and her brother lured him into investing approximately ₹9.5 to ₹10 crore in a microfinance scheme. According to the complainant, he was promised high returns, but neither was the investment secured nor were the promised profits delivered. Based on his complaint, a case was registered, bringing the matter into the public spotlight.

Mangli’s Counter‑Narrative: “It’s a Conspiracy”
In response, Mangli has dismissed the allegations as false and baseless. She has also filed a counter-complaint, claiming that Subbarao repeatedly attempted to meet her personally. When she refused, he allegedly filed a false complaint to malign her image. According to Mangli, the entire episode is driven by personal vendetta and does not involve any financial wrongdoing.
Amid the growing controversy, some media reports also mentioned director Venu Udugula in connection with the case, creating confusion. However, Venu quickly issued a clarification, stating that he has no involvement whatsoever. He expressed disappointment over being unnecessarily dragged into the issue and emphasized that linking someone without verifying facts is irresponsible.
Speculation Around ₹150 Crore Allegations
The situation became more complicated after certain unverified reports claimed that Mangli could be facing multiple financial fraud allegations amounting to as much as ₹150 crore. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding these claims so far. Such speculative reports have added to the confusion and triggered widespread discussions on social media.
Investigation Underway
At present, the investigation is underway, and statements from all concerned parties are being recorded. Experts believe that it is essential to wait for concrete evidence before drawing any conclusions. Jumping to conclusions without a complete investigation could lead to misinformation.
Meanwhile, Mangli has received support from her fans and several members of the film industry, who have called for a fair and impartial probe. On the other hand, the complainant remains firm on his allegations and has stated that he will continue to pursue the case until justice is served.
All eyes are now on the outcome of the investigation, which will determine the truth behind this high-profile controversy—whether it is indeed a case of financial fraud or part of a larger conspiracy.
