Bihar’s East Champaran SP Swarn Prabhat suspended Lady Sub-Inspector Priyanka Gupta for making Instagram reels while on duty. Gupta, posted at Paharpur police station, was frequently seen creating and sharing social media videos in her police uniform, which quickly went viral.

According to reports, Priyanka Gupta not only recorded reels inside her police vehicle but also inside a bank, often using Bollywood songs as background music. One of the viral videos features her sitting inside a car in uniform, her cap resting beside her, while another shows her lip-syncing to the popular dialogue: “Zindagi itna toh sikha rahi hai ki dosti sabse rakho, lekin ummeed kisi se nahi” (Life is teaching me to be friends with all, but expect nothing from anyone).”

The videos gained significant attention on social media, prompting SP Swarn Prabhat to take immediate action. Upon reaching the police station, the senior officer suspended Gupta, leaving the department in silence as officers realized the gravity of the situation.

This incident highlights the growing issue of social media usage among police personnel during duty hours. While digital engagement is common, law enforcement officials are expected to maintain discipline and professionalism, especially while in uniform. The swift suspension serves as a strong warning to others in the force, emphasizing that social media misuse will not be tolerated in the line of duty.
