A Flydubai flight en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv was forced to make an emergency diversion to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday following a violent confrontation between its two pilots inside the cockpit. Flight tracking data indicated a sudden and steep dive, during which the aircraft reportedly entered a spin, prompting widespread alarm throughout the cabin. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that an Israeli passenger who witnessed the ordeal described the plane entering a sudden descent before intervention took place.
Netanyahu noted that the attacker appeared intent on interfering with critical flight systems in a manner that could have caused a catastrophic crash. Working quickly amid the chaotic plunge, an unnamed passenger joined a cabin crew member to breach the cockpit, overpower the offending pilot, and assist the remaining flight crew in pulling the aircraft out of its dive.

Following the intervention, the crew managed to regain operational control and redirected the flight toward Tabuk Airport in northern Saudi Arabia. Emergency personnel attended the aircraft upon touchdown, and all passengers were disembarked without further reported physical danger. Saudi authorities immediately took the accused pilot into custody at Tabuk, where he remains under active interrogation.
