Actor and politician Khushbu Sundar has become the latest public figure to fall victim to a social media hack. In a post on Instagram, Khushbu informed her followers that her official X (formerly Twitter) account had been compromised and that she no longer had access to it.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, she wrote, “Hi friends, my #TWITTER @khushsundar account is hacked. I am not able to log in and it’s not accepting my ID or password. I am blocked out. Any news, updates, posts, or any activity on my Twitter page in the last 9 hours is not by me. Trying to sort this out. Kindly bear with me and keep me posted if you see any kind of suspicious activity on my page. See you soon on Twitter. Till then, I am here.”

In a shocking development, Khushbu later revealed that she received a WhatsApp message from the hacker. The message read, “Hi Kushbu. I hacked your Twitter account but I don’t think your account will be of any use to us.”

Sharing a screenshot of the message on Instagram, she urged the authorities to act swiftly, tagging the Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Office and stating that the message came from a UK-based number.

“My office received this message from the hackers. This is the number of the hackers hidden in UK. @tncybercrimeoff is requested to take an action immediately,” she wrote.

She also posted a screenshot showing her X account being misused to promote cryptocurrency content, clarifying, “Hackers have been using my X account for cryptocurrency. I have nothing to do with these and I do not support it. Hope @tncybercrimeoff looks into this immediately.”

Khushbu’s experience adds to a growing list of celebrities targeted by cybercriminals in recent weeks. Actor Lakshmi Manchu recently reported losing access to her Instagram account, warning fans against responding to messages asking for money. Similarly, Jaaved Jaaferi’s X account was compromised just a week ago, and earlier incidents involving Trisha Krishnan and comedian Tanmay Bhat also highlighted the ongoing threat to public figures’ online security.
