India’s cybersecurity ecosystem is evolving rapidly, but there’s still a major shortage of skilled trainers and educators equipped to deliver practical, real-world knowledge. To bridge this critical gap, the Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF)—an IIT Kanpur’s AIIDE-CoE incubated non-profit—is launching a nationwide empanelment drive for professionals and domain experts to join its newly launched FCRF Academy.

FCRF Academy is a pioneering platform focused on upskilling and certification in cybersecurity, digital forensics, cyber law, risk, and fraud prevention. The academy will offer certificate-based training programs in both online and hybrid formats, designed for working professionals, students, law enforcement personnel, and cyber lab officers.

“We’re building a platform that reflects the real-world needs of cybersecurity, legal compliance, DFIR and fraud risk. We want to bring in experts who have walked the talk,” said Prof. Triveni Singh, Chief Mentor, FCRF.

Open Call for Empanelment of Trainers & Mentors

The Academy is now inviting cybersecurity professionals, investigators, trainers, legal consultants, forensic experts, and cybercrime journalists to join as empaneled trainers, mentors, or course creators. The collaboration is based on a revenue-sharing model, providing trainers with fair compensation while allowing them to contribute flexibly across formats and geographies.

Trainers will have the opportunity to lead certificate courses, hands-on workshops, simulations, and bootcamps. Topics will range from mobile and cloud forensics, OSINT investigation, crypto crime, penetration testing, and dark web investigations, to cyber law compliance, fraud prevention, and cyber crisis management. Trainers are also welcome to propose their own course ideas based on their expertise and emerging needs in the cybersecurity domain.

Why This Matters

Despite growing awareness, quality training in cyber forensics and law remains limited—especially for frontline defenders like law enforcement officers, and also for students and professionals. FCRF Academy addresses this need by offering practical, affordable education, grounded in current challenges like deepfakes, ransomware, SIM cloning, and AI-powered scams.

With cybercrime losses rising and legal frameworks like the DPDP Act and DORA gaining traction, the demand for skilled trainers is greater than ever.
