Police in Etah have registered a criminal case against three individuals following allegations of financial fraud and embezzlement amounting to approximately Rs 90 lakh at an automobile dealership. The First Information Report was filed at the Kotwali Dehat police station after the managing director of RAO Motors Private Limited lodged a formal complaint against a former employee and two associates. The complaint states that the accused manipulated official books, forged company documents, and misappropriated substantial funds over several months.

Forged Records and Audit Manipulation

According to the complaint, the fraudulent activities began around May 19, 2025, when a former employee allegedly abused his position to orchestrate a systematic manipulation of the dealership’s financial administration. Key confidential files were altered and fabricated documents were created to siphon off money while concealing the illicit transactions.

The core of the financial deception involved falsifying the firm’s official daybook. The complaint outlines that fabricated financial entries were systematically introduced into the company’s registers to keep regular balances seemingly intact. These falsified records were maintained to satisfy external auditors and ensure that discrepancies remained hidden during routine reviews. Over time, these unauthorized adjustments accumulated to an estimated financial deficit of Rs 90 lakh.

Threats Follow Internal Inquiry

The discrepancies were initially detected through an internal verification carried out by company officials. As internal examiners began reviewing financial records and unearthing the extent of the fabricated entries, the suspects reportedly attempted to halt the proceedings. The managing director alleged that the primary suspect sought to intimidate the firm into dropping further inquiries.

According to the FIR, the situation escalated when the main accused, accompanied by an associate, visited the residences of two senior company officials. The suspects reportedly issued verbal threats warning the executives of severe consequences, including death, if they pursued the audit or filed an official complaint with law enforcement. Despite the intimidation, the management decided to approach the police with the evidence gathered during their initial checks.

Police Launch Comprehensive Audit Probe

Following the formal complaint from the managing director, Kotwali Dehat police booked three people and initiated a detailed examination of the transaction history. Officials stated that investigators are currently cross-referencing company ledgers, daily balance registers, banking details, and related digital documents to verify the claims.

Investigators are tracking the exact methods used to withdraw or divert the money, alongside identifying the recipient bank accounts. The police noted that the allegations in the complaint have not yet been independently substantiated. Officers confirmed that evidence regarding both the financial fraud and the intimidation claims is being compiled, and further legal steps will depend on the final findings of the ongoing probe.
