New Delhi: In a significant breakthrough in an international manhunt, fugitive accused Mohammad Navas Kakkat Ismail has been extradited to India from the United Arab Emirates. The operation was carried out by the Central Bureau of Investigation in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs. The accused was brought to India on Tuesday and taken into custody upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.

The charges against him include extortion, cheating, criminal breach of trust, forgery, and impersonation. The case was originally registered by Delhi Police, after which the accused fled the country to evade legal action.
Interpol Red Notice Accelerate Action
Efforts to trace and arrest the accused were intensified at the international level. The investigating agency had secured a Red Notice against him through Interpol. A Red Notice serves as a global alert to law enforcement agencies across member countries, seeking the location and provisional arrest of a wanted individual for extradition.
Following the issuance of the Red Notice, authorities were able to track the accused’s location in the UAE, where he was subsequently arrested. Legal procedures for extradition were then initiated and completed, leading to his transfer to India.
