Amritsar (Punjab) | Administration and police have been placed on high alert after several schools in and around Amritsar received threatening emails. The emails warned of bombing school buildings. Following the threat, school management immediately informed the police, after which search operations were conducted and security arrangements were tightened in the affected schools.
According to police officials, no suspicious object has been found so far from any school premises. As a precautionary measure, the security perimeter has been strengthened, and teams from the bomb disposal squad and dog squad thoroughly checked the school campuses. Ensuring the safety of students remains the top priority.

Senior officials of the Amritsar Police Commissionerate stated that a cyber investigation team has been deployed to identify the person who sent the email. Initial suspicion suggests that the threat could be the work of a mischief-maker, though all possible angles are being examined. Authorities added that security has been further enhanced as board examinations are currently underway in schools.
The administration has urged residents of the city not to believe in rumours and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police. Officials said the situation is being closely monitored and every possible step is being taken to ensure the safety of students.
School managements have also been instructed to strengthen security checks at entry points and closely monitor the movement of outsiders on campus. Police said the technical analysis of the email source is underway and other agencies are also being involved in the investigation.
Overall, the incident of receiving threatening emails created temporary tension in the city, but swift action by security forces has helped bring the situation under control. Authorities have assured that the investigation is progressing rapidly and efforts are being made to identify and arrest those responsible.
