Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has strongly condemned a viral AI-generated video that falsely depicts him playing the role of Maharishi Valmiki in a fabricated film trailer. Taking to social media, the actor issued a clarification to debunk the claims, while also criticizing both the misuse of artificial intelligence and the irresponsible amplification of such content by certain media outlets.

Actor Issues Clarification on Social Media

In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Akshay Kumar made it clear that he has no connection with the video. He wrote, “I have recently come across some AI-generated videos of a film trailer showing me in the role of Maharishi Valmiki. I want to clarify that all such videos are fake and created using AI.”

The actor’s statement comes after the video circulated widely across various digital platforms, misleading many into believing that he would be portraying the revered sage in an upcoming project.

Condemnation of Misuse of AI

Kumar expressed concern over the growing trend of deepfakes and manipulated AI content, which he warned can easily mislead audiences. He stated, “In today’s time, when misleading content is being produced at great speed through manipulative AI, I sincerely request media houses to verify and report only after authenticating the information.”

He also called out certain news outlets for broadcasting the AI-generated clip as if it were authentic, stressing that such lapses in verification can cause misinformation to spread unchecked.

Details About the Fake Video

The AI-crafted trailer featured Kumar alongside actors Paresh Rawal and Pankaj Tripathi in what appeared to be a grand period drama. However, the project does not exist and the video is purely a digital fabrication. The incident highlights the potential dangers of AI misuse in entertainment and media, particularly when it involves cultural or religious figures.

Akshay Kumar’s Upcoming Films

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Akshay Kumar is enjoying the success of Jolly LLB 3, co-starring Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla, which has reportedly crossed ₹50 crore at the box office. The actor also has a strong lineup of films ahead, including Hera Pheri 3, Welcome to the Jungle, Haiwaan, and Bhoot Bangla.

Kumar’s clarification underscores the urgent need for vigilance in combating AI-driven misinformation, not only within the film industry but also across digital ecosystems where manipulated content spreads rapidly.
