4. Kolkata Police Arrest 8 in SIM Card Fraud Linked to Cybercriminals
Kolkata Police arrested eight POS handlers for issuing SIM cards without consent and selling them to cyber fraudsters. They manipulated biometric devices to reuse fingerprints, enabling large-scale fraud. Police seized 729 SIM cards and nine biometric devices. Investigations revealed these SIMs were used in cybercrimes, including scams targeting foreigners.
