Mangaluru Police Commissioner suspended constable for taking a selfie with cybercrime accused. An inquiry was also ordered against inspector for allowing students to interact with accused.

3. Rs 474 Crore Cyber Fraud in Punjab: HC to Rule on Victims’ Financial Losses When Accused Is Untraceable

The Punjab & Haryana High Court will decide accountability for victims’ financial losses in cyber fraud cases where accused remain untraceable. Punjab reported Rs 474.49 crore in cyber frauds, recovering only Rs 68.96 lakh. 4. University VC Duped of Rs 14 Lakh in Digital Arrest Scam

Berhampur University VC lost Rs 14 lakh to scammers posing as ED officials. They falsely accused her of money laundering and coerced her into paying for a “digital arrest” release. A case has been registered, and police are investigating under the IT Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

5. Fraudster Impersonating YouTube Employee Arrested in Delhi for Sextortion Racket
