RPF Busts Gang Involved in Illegal Railway Ticket Booking Software Scam

NOIDA: In a decisive crackdown on illegal railway ticketing operations, the RPF Dadri team successfully arrested an individual involved in the black-marketing of railway e-tickets. The accused, operating from Sector-18 Noida, Gautam Buddh Nagar district, was found creating and selling illegal railway e-tickets using personal user IDs with the help of illicit software named “GADAR.” The tickets were being sold at a premium, charging Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 more than the actual ticket price. The accused was operating across multiple states, including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, and West Bengal, using WhatsApp as a medium for ticket distribution. The arrest was made by tracking the accused’s location, and a case under Section 143 of the Railway Act was registered at RPF Dadri.

Modus Operandi
The accused used illegal software named “GADAR” to generate railway e-tickets through personal user IDs. These tickets were then sold to customers in need at inflated prices, ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 above the original fare. He had been supplying tickets via WhatsApp, operating as the mastermind behind the Tatkal ticket booking scam. Over the past year, the accused generated an illegal turnover of approximately Rs 20 lakh through this activity.
