65% UP Policemen Have Above Average Cyber Knowledge: Cyber Quotient (CQ) Test
Lucknow: 65 per cent of Uttar Pradesh police has more than average knowledge of cybersecurity. The revelation was made in the first-of-a-kind Cyber Quotient (CQ) Test conducted by Noida based NGO Root64 Foundation.
The one-hour long online test was taken by close to 1,000 policemen spread across the state. 50 unique questions were asked to each candidate in the test which had questions related to cyber forensic, cyber law, hacking, information security, telecommunication technology, internet technology etc. Such a test will help in assessing cyber awareness of UP police.
Digital India is one of the top priorities of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Even, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a big push to digital growth and cyber awareness. The CQ test aims at checking and preparing the workforce to understand the online world better and stay prepared to deal with technical challenges.
“We saw great participation of cops. Results are quite satisfactory as close to 60-65 per cent people have more than average knowledge of cybersecurity. Highest scorer constable Atul Chaubey got 68 per cent,” Amit Dubey, Chief Mentor, Root64 Foundation.
Superintendent of Police cyber cell, Triveni Singh said, “It was to check the awareness and to see where we stand today. The test has highlighted the gaps and direction in which we have to move. Based on the result staff will be trained and other grooming will take place. It will also give an insight into our awareness level and encourage policemen to learn about digital offence and investigation.”
The event is co-organised by Micro Finance Association of Uttar Pradesh (UPMA). Speaking about the initiative Sudhir Sinha, CEO, UPMA said such test helps in identifying bright talent posted across the state. With increasing cases of cybercrime and fraud, it has become extremely important for police to know the latest threats and tools to deal with it.
“This helped in testing cyber aptitude and investigation skillsets of examinees. The test has been customised keeping day to day cyber investigation and tools in mind. These tests will help in improving their cyber skill sets. It will also help in identifying those with deep cyber knowledge. Winners will be specially trained by Root64 in dealing with cybercrime cases,” Kumud Bajaj Dubey, cyber crime expert.
