Unmasking the Racket

The call centres, identified as Drashti Solutions and DSS Business Solution, were based in Astra Tower and Abacus Tower near Akankha More. These centres targeted foreign nationals, predominantly in the United States, by impersonating representatives of reputed organizations like Microsoft. Using sophisticated technologies such as VOIP, soft-phone applications, and grey minutes, the operators deceived victims with scripted offers of fake technical support services.

The Raid and Arrests

The meticulously planned raid led to the arrest of 15 individuals, including three women. Authorities also seized a significant haul of electronic equipment, including:

  • 62 Laptops
  • 41 Mobile Phones
  • Additional electronic devices

Investigation and Next Steps

The WB-CCW has initiated a thorough investigation to trace financial transactions associated with the scam, focusing on links to cryptocurrency and hawala networks. Efforts are ongoing to identify the masterminds behind the operation.

Safeguarding the Digital Space

This operation highlights the WB-CCW’s relentless efforts to curb cybercrime and protect individuals from fraudulent activities. The success of this raid serves as a reminder of the growing threats in the digital age and the importance of vigilance against cyber fraud.

This swift action by the WB-CCW reinforces trust in law enforcement’s ability to address sophisticated cybercrimes effectively.
