Root64 launches  ‘Destination Conferences’ a series of Special cyber security workshops for those  who matter the most

In order to spread cybersecurity awareness at the grassroot level, a Delhi based NGO-Root 64 foundation along with Azamgarh police held a series of conferences for different sections of the society.

Amit Dubey, founder of Root 64 foundation has named the initiative as destination cybersecurity conference, which aims to take risk and counter measures for attacks on the virtual world to the masses.

Under the program, special awareness for women and children was conducted where crimes related to them were highlighted. As per police record crime against women like online stalking, fake profiles and harassments are increasing. Similarly, students are falling prey to cyber bullying, phishing and objectionable content on the web.

“Idea is to spread the awareness among the masses. We are connecting with all the sections of the society. A special conference was held for women and children, a first-of-its kind discussion was held with city doctors on data privacy. We aim to sensitise and train police staff as well as they have to act and prevent such crimes,” Amit Dubey said.

He highlighted that Root 64 foundation will take these conferences to the remotest corner of the country so that even uneducated and lesser-privilege citizens can know about vulnerability and measures to stay safe.

Moving towards digital India, khushbu jain, advocate raised voice that kids/students at schools should be taught the skills they need to safely reap the benefits of the online world.

Lauding their effort, superintendent of police, Azamgarh, Triveni Singh said, “Best way to keep a check on increasing cases of cyber crime is by keeping people aware. This initiative is reaching to people away from metro cities who live in Tier-II and III areas. With rapid change in technology, people living in rural areas become more vulnerable.”

Triveni Singh who specialises in cyber crime said we are also getting our police force trained by getting a practical explanation of latest tool to track and crack such cases. Other police districts are also shown interest in holding similar awareness program.
