The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has started reviewing the functioning and appointment process of employees associated with the temple administration. The trust has sought biodata from around 350 to 400 salaried employees and 150 to 200 unpaid workers engaged in various temple-related activities. According to the trust, the objective of the exercise is to verify employees’ educational qualifications, experience and character records so that responsibilities can be assigned according to their capabilities and expertise.

Trust Treasurer Mahant Govind Dev Giri said that collecting employee details is part of an effort to improve administrative functioning. He stated that with the expansion of temple activities, it has become necessary to clearly identify the qualifications, roles and responsibilities of every employee. The process will help ensure that individuals are assigned duties according to their skills and suitability.

The initiative was launched after the newly appointed General Secretary took charge. The trust management aims to bring greater transparency into the temple administration, establish accountability among employees and streamline various operational activities. Along with this, the trust is also searching for old appointment records and original files related to employee recruitment to examine the process through which appointments were made.

Following the directive, uncertainty has increased among some employees. Particularly, those who have been working for a long time at the organisational level are gathering their educational certificates, experience documents and other required records to submit their biodata on time. Some employees believe that changes in responsibilities may take place after the review of documents and qualifications.

According to sources, the trust is also reviewing the role and expenses associated with certain unpaid employees. During the assessment, some cases have reportedly emerged where the monthly expenses incurred on certain unpaid workers were higher than those of regular salaried employees. The trust administration is examining such cases, and some services may be discontinued after the review.

The current temple workforce includes personnel working in security, CCTV monitoring, control room operations, store management, administration and other departments. The staff includes retired defence personnel, accountants, technical employees and professionals with experience in different fields. All such employees will now be required to submit their personal and professional details to the trust.

The trust is also looking into employee appointment files, including appointment letters, selection procedures, service conditions and related documents. The purpose of this exercise is to ensure that all appointments were made according to established rules and procedures.

The trust management believes that strengthening administrative systems and ensuring accountability has become essential due to the increasing popularity of the Ram Temple and the growing number of devotees visiting the shrine. The verification of employee details is being considered an important step in this direction. Based on the document review, the trust may introduce changes in responsibilities, implement new administrative arrangements or take further decisions regarding certain employees in the coming days.
