Kolkata: Actor and former TMC MP Nusrat Jahan appeared before the Enforcement Directorate at its Salt Lake office on Wednesday in connection with a housing fraud case, an official said. Jahan, accompanied by actor and husband Yash Dasgupta, arrived at the CGO Complex in the morning.
Officials said she was summoned as part of an ongoing investigation into a housing project in Rajarhat, where a firm allegedly collected money from buyers on the promise of flats but failed to deliver them. An ED official said certain new information had emerged over the past few months, making her appearance necessary.
Fresh Appearance in Ongoing Probe
The agency said Jahan had been summoned in connection with the continuing investigation into the housing fraud case. Officials said she had earlier been associated as a director of the company under scrutiny, a claim she has denied.
The case has remained under investigation for some time, and her latest appearance comes after the agency reviewed new material linked to the matter. The ED official indicated that developments in recent months had prompted the renewed questioning.

Allegations Linked to Rajarhat Housing Project
The complaint in the case was filed by BJP leader Shankudeb Panda, who alleged that more than 400 senior citizens were duped by the firm during 2014-15 after being promised 1,000 sq ft flats for around Rs 5.5 lakh each.
The complainants allegedly received neither the flats nor refunds. The agency is examining the allegations linked to the Rajarhat project as part of its broader probe into the suspected fraud.
Jahan Denies Any Role in the Company
Jahan had previously been questioned by the agency in 2023 for nearly six hours in connection with the same case. She has denied all allegations, including any association with the company as a director.
Her appearance on Wednesday has again brought the case into focus, with investigators continuing to examine the project, the firm’s dealings with buyers and the role of those linked to the company.
