A woman employed as an accountant at a local pharmaceutical enterprise has been booked along with three members of her family for allegedly swindling around 65 lakh rupees from the establishment in Meerut. The case was registered at the Nauchandi police station following a directive issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police. The complaint was formally brought forward by the proprietor of the enterprise, who detected large-scale financial anomalies during a sudden internal audit of the firm’s commercial ledgers.

Allegations of Financial Irregularities Across Long Service

According to the details shared by the authorities, the complainant has been identified as Lalit Anand, a resident of Chitrakoot Colony situated within the Nauchandi area. Anand operates a pharmaceutical venture under the trade name of M/s Madhav Pharmacy. He informed the police that a woman residing in the Jagriti Vihar locality had been serving as the company accountant for the past eleven years. Over the course of her tenure, she was entrusted with managing the incoming commercial receipts, handling administrative accounts, and balancing the company ledger books against all transactions.

The complainant stated that the accountant systematically withheld money collected against company bills rather than depositing the full sums into the official business accounts. Over time, the accumulated shortfalls escalated to approximately 65 lakh rupees, which were allegedly diverted by the employee without the knowledge of the proprietor.

Discrepancies Uncovered During Surprise Audit

The sustained manipulation came to light when the firm initiated a sudden inspection into its accounts. During the scrutiny of the financial statements and transaction receipts, the proprietor identified extensive gaps between the revenues billed to clients and the actual funds credited to the company. Upon the exposure of the irregularities in the ledger entries, the accused accountant abruptly went missing from the workplace and could not be contacted.

Anand further informed the investigators that the woman did not act alone in the diversion of company funds. The complaint states that her parents and brother actively colluded with her in perpetrating the fraud and securing the siphoned money.

Police File Charges and Initiate Formal Inquiry

Following an assessment of the detailed grievance submitted by the business owner, the Senior Superintendent of Police instructed the local precinct to act promptly. Nauchandi police subsequently registered a criminal case naming all four family members as accused parties.

The investigating team has initiated an inquiry to establish how the billing revenue was siphoned, track the movement of the missing funds, and determine the precise involvement of each individual named in the complaint. Police officers are examining the firm’s balance sheets, physical bill books, and related banking documents to reconstruct the chain of transactions. Officials stated that necessary legal steps will be pursued as the investigation advances.
