Lucknow: Mansoor Ali, a resident of Vibhuti Khand, has accused the branch manager and office in-charge of Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company of misusing his personal documents to approve a fraudulent vehicle loan. Following a court order, Vibhuti Khand police have registered an FIR against both accused and started investigating the matter. It is alleged that a scooter was financed in someone else’s name using Mansoor Ali’s Aadhaar and PAN cards, which also affected his CIBIL score.
According to the victim, in 2024 he needed a personal loan. When he checked his credit score, he discovered that a loan had already been taken using his documents through Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company. Due to non-payment of instalments, his credit record was also damaged. After learning about this, he contacted the company’s office located at Shalimar Corporate Park but did not receive a satisfactory response.
Fraud Detected During Personal Loan Application
Mansoor Ali claims that he sent a legal notice to the company on September 18, but there was no proper reply. He later lodged a complaint on the IGRS portal. During the inquiry, it was revealed that his documents were used to finance a scooter in another person’s name. The victim has alleged that the branch manager and office in-charge were involved in the fraud through collusion and has demanded strict action against them.

Earlier Allegations Against Company Surface
Earlier, another dispute related to the same company had also surfaced when a woman alleged that her documents were used to finance a scooter in someone else’s name. When her complaint was not addressed, she had made a video in August 2024 threatening self-immolation outside the company office, which later went viral on social media. Police had intervened at that time to control the situation.
Police records show that action had also been taken in some other cases related to the finance company. Vibhuti Khand police had arrested company executive Shashank Srivastava and his associate Harinesh. Additionally, a case was registered against several people including Shashank Singh, Harinesh Bhatnagar, Ram Narayan, Satendra Kumar, and Bhupin Kumar on a complaint by the GM of MGS Sales. It was alleged that vehicle loans were taken using customers’ documents and vehicles were sold to other people.
Investigation Focuses on Loan Approval Process
According to police officials, the investigation into the present case has begun and documents have been sought from the company office. A team is also contacting company officials to verify the loan approval process and related records. Preliminary scrutiny has also raised questions about document verification and the loan disbursement system.
Authorities have stated that further action will be taken based on the facts that emerge during the investigation. Police are also trying to identify whether more individuals are involved in the fraud. Considering the increasing incidents of financial fraud and misuse of credit information, the investigation is being taken seriously.
Meanwhile, the victim has demanded strict legal action against the accused and correction of his CIBIL record. The investigation is ongoing and police are expected to submit a detailed report to the court soon.
