How Cyber Fraudsters Use Mule Bank Accounts in Telangana Digital Scams
Cybersecurity experts believe that the use of mule bank accounts has become one of the most dangerous methods of digital fraud. Commenting on the case, renowned cyber crime expert and former IPS officer Prof. Triveni Singh said, “Cybercriminals often create mule account networks to exploit weak links in the banking system. Through social engineering and financial temptation, even ordinary people are dragged into such crimes. Public awareness and stronger digital monitoring are essential for financial security.”
Legal Action Against Mule Account Holders in Karimnagar Cyber Fraud Cases
Investigating agencies warned that bank account holders who have allowed their accounts to be used for commissions or other monetary benefits will face strict legal action under the law. Officials said such account holders may be considered complicit with cybercriminals.
According to police, cybercriminals often use tactics such as job scams, investment schemes, lottery frauds, and fake online service offers to trick people into transferring money. The funds are then rapidly moved across multiple accounts to conceal their origin. Mule bank accounts play a crucial role in this process, making it difficult for investigators to trace the money trail.
Cyber Fraud Prevention Tips
Authorities appealed to the public not to share bank account details, OTPs, passwords, or financial information with unknown persons. If anyone is offered easy money or high commission for allowing their bank account to be used, they should immediately inform the police or cyber helpline. Timely reporting can help prevent fraud.
Investigation teams also said that with the rising number of cybercrime cases, technical surveillance systems are being strengthened. Greater emphasis is being placed on information sharing between banking institutions and law enforcement agencies. Real-time monitoring of suspicious transactions is also being implemented using advanced technologies.
Police officials clarified that action will be taken against mule bank account holders in accordance with the law. If their involvement is proven during investigation, their accounts may be frozen and criminal cases may be registered. Authorities said the cybercrime crackdown will continue in the future to strengthen digital financial security and dismantle fraud networks.
