Jaipur:  A suspected ₹2 crore fraud case involving an IT company in Rajasthan’s Jaipur has raised serious concerns over corporate data security and insider cyber risks. The case revolves around allegations that former employees misused confidential company data, software systems and client networks to create a parallel business structure and allegedly divert large financial payments.

Former Employees Accused of Misusing Company Data

According to investigators, the complaint was filed by IT businessman Arun Goyal, who alleged that former senior employees of his company abused their positions of trust and orchestrated a planned financial conspiracy after leaving the organization.

Officials said the accused, identified as Jitendra Jain, Sandeep Agrawal and Ajit Jain, had worked in key positions within the complainant’s IT firm for a considerable period. During that time, they allegedly gained access to sensitive business operations, software infrastructure, client databases and financial communication systems.

Investigators claim that the accused later established another company named “Invent Collapse Infotech Private Limited.” The complaint alleges that family members and relatives of the accused were made directors in the new entity and allegedly used as dummy directors to conceal the actual control and operation of the business.

Foreign Client Payment Diversion Under Probe

Police said the accused are suspected of illegally copying confidential software, digital records, client details and proprietary business information from the original company. Investigators further allege that the accused used similar technical services and operational models to start a parallel business that could mislead existing clients.

According to the complaint, several customers were allegedly manipulated into transferring payments to alternate bank accounts instead of the legitimate company accounts. Authorities believe the alleged diversion of client payments caused financial losses exceeding ₹2 crore to the complainant’s business.

The FIR also states that nearly 45,000 US dollars received from a foreign client were allegedly redirected to separate accounts. Investigators suspect the funds were linked to software development or technology service contracts but were diverted through unauthorized financial channels instead of official company accounts.

Digital Forensics Focus on Emails, Servers and Bank Trails

Officials associated with the investigation said digital forensic analysis has now become a major focus of the case. Police are examining email records, banking transactions, client communication logs, server access history and cloud-based data storage systems to determine how the alleged diversion took place.

Investigators are also trying to establish whether sensitive company data was copied before the accused left the organization and whether any external entity or competing business may have been involved in the alleged operation.

The arrested accused, Jitendra Jain, was produced before a court and later sent to judicial custody. Meanwhile, police teams are conducting raids and surveillance operations to trace the remaining accused, Sandeep Agrawal and Ajit Jain. Authorities said digital tracking methods and banking activity analysis are being used to locate them.

Cybercrime and corporate fraud experts say insider-led data theft and client diversion cases are increasing rapidly in the technology sector. In many cases, former employees allegedly exploit access to source code, customer databases, payment systems and internal communication channels to create competing businesses or reroute clients.
