Gujarat Police have arrested a 35-year-old man from Assam’s Barpeta district in connection with a cyber fraud case registered at the Gandhinagar Cyber Crime Police Station. The accused has been taken to Gujarat on transit remand for further investigation.
Gujarat Police Trace Suspect to Assam
The accused has been identified as Azizul Hussain, a resident of Dangarkuchi in Barpeta district.
Police said his name surfaced during the investigation of a cybercrime case registered in Gandhinagar. Investigators suspect his involvement in the case and are also examining a wider network allegedly connected to the offence.

Joint Search Operation Leads to Arrest
A Gujarat Police team travelled to Barpeta after tracing the accused to the district.
The team was led by Inspector Bipul Kumar Kantibhai of the Gandhinagar Cyber Crime Police Station. After reaching Barpeta Police Station, the officers coordinated with local police and launched a search operation.
Hussain was subsequently apprehended from Dangarkuchi.

The operation was carried out with the assistance of Barpeta Police.
Local officers helped the Gujarat Police team in tracing and apprehending the accused. After completing the required legal formalities, Hussain was handed over to the Gujarat Police team.
The arrest was part of an interstate operation involving coordination between police forces in Assam and Gujarat.
Court Grants Transit Remand
Following the arrest, Hussain was produced before a local court in Barpeta.
The court granted transit remand, allowing Gujarat Police to take custody of the accused and transport him to Gujarat for further investigation and interrogation.
Inspector Bipul Kumar Kantibhai said the accused had been arrested in connection with an ongoing cybercrime investigation registered at the Gandhinagar Cyber Crime Police Station.
Wider Cyber Fraud Network Under Probe
Police said investigators suspect that the accused may be connected to a wider network linked to the alleged cyber offence.
The Gandhinagar Cyber Crime Police are continuing the investigation and examining his alleged role in the case.
