The Gautam Buddha Nagar Commissionerate Police have rescued 28 women and detained 15 individuals following simultaneous raids on four spa centres in the Beta-2 area of Greater Noida. The operation, conducted under the special enforcement drive named Operation Raksha, targeted suspected human trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, and organised prostitution operating under the guise of massage services. Investigators have widened the scope of the probe to examine digital evidence, financial transactions, CCTV footage, and potential interstate links.
The coordinated action was initiated following a complaint from a social welfare organisation alongside specific intelligence inputs regarding illegal activities at the venues. After verifying the information and conducting discreet surveillance, police teams launched the operation on a Saturday evening at a commercial building near Site-4 on the ground floor. Although some individuals attempted to leave the area upon the arrival of the police, authorities successfully cordoned off the premises to conduct a comprehensive search. During the enforcement drive, officials inspected business licences, employee verification records, and operational documents to check compliance with legal requirements.
Coordinated Raids and Detentions at Beta-2
The operation led to the detention of 15 men, including suspected customers, employees, managers, and operators of the spa centres, who are currently being questioned. According to officials, some of the rescued women could not provide a satisfactory explanation for their presence at the establishments during preliminary questioning. During the searches, police teams recovered condoms and other objectionable materials from the premises. Several mobile phones and electronic devices were seized and sent for forensic examination. All 28 rescued women have undergone medical examinations and formal counselling. They have since been shifted to a safe location for further assistance and protection. Investigators are working to determine if any of the women were trafficked from other states, coerced into prostitution, or forced to work under exploitative conditions. The statements recorded during the counselling sessions and medical procedures are expected to serve as key evidence in establishing the exact circumstances of their employment.
Beyond the immediate raids, the police investigation has expanded into a detailed financial and digital audit. Investigators are scrutinising bank accounts, digital payment records, call detail records, and employee verification documents associated with the four spa centres. The primary objective is to establish whether the local businesses were connected to an organised prostitution racket, an interstate human trafficking syndicate, or broader criminal networks specializing in commercial sexual exploitation.
