The retired officer, identified as Dashrath Dhondabaji Barghat, was approached by two well-dressed men around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. Claiming to be police officers, they fabricated a story about increased thefts in the area and urged him to surrender his gold chain and ring “for safekeeping.” When he complied, the imposters quickly fled with the valuable items.

No injuries were reported, as the retired officer promptly realized he had been deceived once the men vanished. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, he immediately approached the nearby Ajni police station to file a complaint.
