Noida. Noida International Airport is set to begin commercial flight operations from June 15, 2026, with IndiGo scheduled to operate the first service from the new facility. The launch marks a major step in the phased rollout of the Jewar airport project, which is being developed as a new aviation hub for Delhi-NCR and northern India.
Domestic Flights to Lead Initial Operations
Officials said the first phase of operations will focus on domestic connectivity, with a limited number of flights planned at the beginning. International services are expected to be introduced gradually in the coming months as the airport moves through its operational phases.

IndiGo is expected to connect several major Indian cities in the initial stage, strengthening domestic air travel networks and improving regional access for Noida, Greater Noida and nearby areas.
New Hub Expected to Ease Delhi Airport Pressure
The Jewar airport is among India’s largest greenfield airport projects and is being developed as a future global aviation hub. Experts believe it could help reduce pressure on Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, potentially diverting 20 to 30 percent of passenger traffic in the long term.
Airport authorities said the first phase will focus on passenger convenience, ground handling efficiency and security systems. The facility includes modern infrastructure such as a high-capacity runway, advanced terminal buildings and fully digital check-in systems for faster passenger processing.
Economic Boost Expected Across Region
Officials said the airport will play an important role in boosting economic activity in northern India, especially in logistics, trade and tourism. The project is also expected to generate employment in aviation, hospitality, transport and related sectors.
The airport will be connected to major road and expressway networks, allowing access from Delhi-NCR and nearby states. Real estate experts expect increased investment activity in Noida, Greater Noida and western Uttar Pradesh after the launch of operations.
Authorities said international airlines are likely to begin services in the next phase, further strengthening global connectivity. The airport is being viewed as part of a larger infrastructure push to position Uttar Pradesh as a major aviation and logistics hub.
