The legal action follows an intense spell of rain on September 4, when the airport area recorded 72.2 mm of precipitation between 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm. While temporary water accumulation was observed outside the arrival forecourt of Terminal 3, airport ground teams cleared the water within approximately 20 minutes. The operator maintained that flight movements and overall airport operations continued under standard procedures and remained entirely unaffected throughout the period.

Delhi Police are now examining the flagged digital accounts to trace the origin of the posts and evaluate the extent of their circulation. Investigators are expected to analyze metadata and digital footprints to determine whether the false posts stemmed from negligence or deliberate attempts to cause public alarm.
