The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two Delhi Police officials—one Sub-Inspector (SI) posted at PS Krishna Nagar and one Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posted at PS Harsh Vihar—for allegedly accepting bribes in two separate corruption cases. Both officers were caught red-handed during trap operations laid by the CBI based on formal complaints.

Case 1: SI Sought Money for “Favourable Charge Sheet” to Help in Bail

The first case pertains to the Sub-Inspector from Krishna Nagar. According to the complaint filed on 19 November 2025, the SI had allegedly demanded ₹40,000 from the complainant in exchange for assisting in securing bail for the complainant’s brother by filing a favourable charge sheet.

After negotiation, the accused SI agreed to accept ₹30,000. The CBI immediately organized a trap operation and on the same day caught the SI while demanding and accepting the bribe amount.

Officials confirmed that the transaction was monitored closely and the evidence collected during the trap is being examined further as part of the investigation.

Case 2: ASI Demanded ₹1 Lakh to Remove Name from FIR

The second case involves an ASI attached to Harsh Vihar Police Station. The CBI registered the case on 18 November 2025 after receiving allegations that the ASI had demanded ₹1 lakh from a woman complainant. In return, he had promised to remove her name from an FIR registered at the police station.

Following discussions, the ASI agreed to accept ₹50,000. The CBI then laid a trap and apprehended him while accepting the agreed bribe amount. The agency said the evidence recovered from the trap operation forms a crucial part of the case.

Both Officials Apprehended; Inquiry Underway

Both the Sub-Inspector and the Assistant Sub-Inspector have been taken into custody. The CBI noted that the arrests were made after clear and corroborated evidence emerged that the officials were misusing their official positions for personal gain.

The investigation is continuing, and the agency is probing whether any other officials were involved or if these demands were part of a larger pattern of corruption within the respective police stations.

CBI Reinforces Zero-Tolerance Policy on Corruption

The agency emphasized that such trap operations are a vital tool in preventing the misuse of authority by public officials. Each operation involves meticulous planning, technical surveillance, and strict adherence to procedural protocols to ensure the evidence is strong and admissible.

According to the CBI, these arrests reflect its ongoing commitment to maintaining integrity in law enforcement systems. The agency has urged citizens to come forward and report bribery or any form of corruption without fear, ensuring that offenders—regardless of rank—are held accountable.

The CBI reaffirmed that further action will be taken as per the investigation’s findings and both cases will proceed through appropriate legal channels.
