Patna/Bhagalpur. A major organised cheating network has been busted during the ongoing Bihar Police Prohibition Constable recruitment examination, exposing a sophisticated racket allegedly designed to manipulate the exam process using advanced electronic devices. The operation was jointly carried out by the Bihar STF and Bhagalpur police, resulting in the arrest of three accused, while several others linked to the network remain at large.

Three Accused Arrested

The arrested individuals have been identified as Kundan Kumar alias Devmuni alias Dev Sir from Khagaria, Dev Kumar from Navgachhiya, and Dilip Kumar from Saharsa. Preliminary investigations suggest that the gang had been operating for a considerable period, collecting large sums of money from aspirants in exchange for promises of guaranteed success in the competitive examination.

According to officials, the accused used to approach candidates before the examination and assure them of selection through a well-coordinated electronic cheating system. Candidates were allegedly charged significant amounts and were told that special devices and technical setups would be provided to facilitate communication of answers during the exam.

Electronic Devices Recovered

During the raid, investigators recovered a large number of electronic and digital devices, including two laptops, keyboard, mouse, laptop chargers, printers, routers, seven mobile printers, an iPad, walkie-talkie devices, Bluetooth gadgets, 10 debit cards, and five mobile phones. In addition, several important documents were seized, including admit cards, mark sheets, original certificates, and other exam-related materials.

Officials said the recovered equipment indicates that the gang was highly organised and technologically equipped to interfere with the examination process. The use of wireless communication tools and portable printing systems suggests a coordinated mechanism designed to bypass examination security systems.

Wider Network Suspected

Preliminary findings further indicate that the network may have extended across multiple states, with several individuals possibly involved in facilitating the scam at different levels. Authorities believe the racket was part of a larger organised operation targeting recruitment examinations by exploiting candidates under pressure for government jobs.

Following the exposure, concerns have been raised regarding the integrity and security of recruitment examinations. Authorities have stated that a comprehensive investigation is underway to determine how many candidates were influenced and whether similar attempts were made in other examination centres.

Digital Records Under Probe

The investigation team is currently analysing mobile phone data, financial transactions, and digital records recovered from the accused to trace the wider network. Efforts are also being made to identify additional members and determine the full scale of the operation, including possible masterminds behind the racket.

Officials have indicated that further arrests are likely as the probe progresses and more links of the network are uncovered. Security arrangements for ongoing and upcoming examinations are also being reviewed in light of the incident to prevent any similar attempts in the future.

At present, all three arrested accused are being interrogated intensively, and investigators are working to dismantle the entire network involved in the alleged exam manipulation scam.
