YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 3 contestant Armaan Malik, along with his two wives, Payal Malik and Kritika Malik, have been summoned by the Patiala District Court in connection with violations of the Hindu Marriage Act. Bigamy Allegations and Religious Sensitivities
A petition filed by Davinder Rajput alleges that Armaan Malik’s multiple marriages, far beyond legally permissible norms under Hindu law, constitute bigamy, a punishable offence. Unconventional public declarations, including one where Malik stated, “every man wants to have two wives,” have intensified scrutiny of his personal life.
Further complicating matters, the petition also accuses Armaan and Payal of hurting religious sentiments. It alleges that Payal’s portrayal of the Hindu goddess Kali in an Instagram video was offensive and constitutes a violation under sections pertaining to religious insult.
Public Image Under the Spotlight
Armaan Malik initially rose to fame as a family-style lifestyle vlogger and became more widely known through his stint on Bigg Boss OTT Season 3, where he appeared alongside both Payal and Kritika. Their openly polygamous household has sparked intense debate on social media, where discussions of modern relationships, polygamy, and personal freedoms continue to simmer.
