Artificial intelligence could reshape the American job market so significantly that political divisions may eventually give way to practical measures for workers affected by the technology, according to Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei.
Speaking during a conversation with the World Economic Forum, Amodei said the impact of AI on employment could become serious enough to compel policymakers across party lines to support measures aimed at helping workers adjust. He suggested that as AI continues to transform industries, governments may face growing pressure to respond with retraining, mobility support and economic assistance.

During an interview with Wall Street Journal Editor-in-Chief Emma Tucker, Amodei said traditional ideological debates may struggle to keep pace with the changes brought by advanced AI systems.
“We’re going to find that ideology will not survive the nature of this technology. It won’t survive reality,” he said.
The comment reflected his view that AI’s economic consequences may force political systems to respond in ways that go beyond established divisions. Amodei suggested that the scale and nature of the technology could make worker support a practical necessity rather than a partisan question.
