Accused of Manufacturing Narcotic Drugs Using Chemicals, Chemistry Teacher Detained in Telangana Police Raid

Telangana Police conducted a raid in Nagla Mattu village under Khandauli area on Friday morning in connection with the investigation of a gutkha factory busted in Jodhpur and detained chemistry teacher Manoj. He is accused of preparing narcotic substances by mixing chemicals and supplying them to the gutkha factory. A large quantity of chemicals was also recovered from his premises. Action is being taken under the NDPS Act and the investigation has been expanded to uncover the entire network.

According to police, Telangana Police had received clues about the Agra connection during the probe into the gutkha factory operating in Jodhpur. It is alleged that special chemicals were being used to make the gutkha product more addictive. The investigation revealed that these chemicals were being prepared in Agra and supplied from there. Acting on this input, the police team reached Khandauli and detained teacher Manoj after raiding his residence in Nagla Mattu village.

Chemical Coach Background

The accused Manoj, originally a resident of Narakhi area in Firozabad, had been living with his family in Khandauli for about 15 years. He was also running a chemistry coaching class in the locality. Investigation also revealed that he had started visiting Jodhpur frequently in recent times. It is suspected that he was introduced to the gutkha factory owner through a person associated with the business, after which a chemical supply network was allegedly developed.

Massive Chemical Seizure

Police said the accused teacher had rented a shop on Samra road where chemical storage was maintained. During the raid, approximately 450 litres of distilled water, 120 litres of methyl amine, 27.5 litres of hydrobromic acid, 100 litres of ethyl acetate, 50 litres of acetone, 40 litres of hydrochloric acid and nine litres of ethanol were seized. Authorities are trying to determine how these chemicals were mixed to prepare narcotic substances and the scale of their usage.

NDPS Investigation Ongoing

Officials said that during the investigation of the Jodhpur gutkha factory, suspicious financial transactions and supply chain links had also surfaced. Following the information, Telangana Police coordinated with local police in Agra and carried out the operation. The detained teacher was interrogated late into the night regarding chemical procurement, storage and supply routes.

Police suspect that several other people may also be involved in the case. Therefore, possible associates are being identified based on the leads obtained from the accused. The seized chemicals will also undergo forensic examination to determine whether they were used for manufacturing any kind of narcotic substance.
