Sangvi police have registered a case against three people based on her complaint and launched an investigation. The accused allegedly collected money from the woman by promising returns of 10% every month and initially paid her small amounts as profits to gain her confidence.

According to police, the complainant is a homemaker residing in the Pimple Gurav area of Navi Sangvi. The woman stated that she initially received small amounts as profits on several occasions. These payments allegedly increased her confidence in the investment arrangement, following which she increased the amount she invested. However, after allegedly receiving larger sums, the accused stopped paying the promised returns.

The complainant further alleged that she repeatedly asked the accused to return her principal amount, but they allegedly failed to do so. According to her complaint, she transferred money online for the purported trading activities and also handed over some money in cash. Police said the total amount allegedly invested through various transactions was ₹21,37,044.

The woman alleged that she neither received the promised returns nor recovered the principal amount invested in the purported trading activities. Following her complaint, police registered a case against Bajirao Vilas Patil, aged around 48, an unidentified woman aged around 44, and Sarvesh Bajirao Patil, aged 18.

Police said all three accused are residents of Shubhlabh Rajpal Building at Sai Raj Residency in Pimple Gurav. The case has been registered under Sections 316(2), 318(4) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Sections 406 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code. The crime registration number is 628/2026.

Investigators are examining the financial transactions between the complainant and the accused, the alleged investment arrangement and the role of each person named in the complaint. Police are also checking the accounts into which the money was transferred and whether any genuine investment platform or trading account was used for the purported share market and forex transactions.

The investigation is currently underway. Police are examining transaction records, financial documents and other evidence to establish the flow of funds and determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged fraud. Further action will depend on the findings of the investigation.

The allegations made by the woman are subject to investigation, and the complete facts of the case are expected to emerge as police examine the financial records and other evidence.
